The Menagerie

A brilliant night ruined by one man. Was at Menagerie for a fundraiser for a new gender neutral toilet at the amazing queer art venue The 343. A raffle was going on and we won a very large painting which obviously wouldn't be able to be carried home. A raffle was going on and we won a very large painting which obviously wouldn't be able to be carried home. Spoke to the amazing Dawn about the situation who passed me on to the not so amazing Andy (the owner or something). Explained that it was clearly impossible for us to carry a door-sized painting home so asked if I could pick it up on Monday. Was told that he was working but couldn't guarantee when he would be in Menagerie til. Explained we were having a spa day on Monday and was met with a "well good for you" and a turned back. Thankfully Dawn has volunteered to look after the painting but honestly can't believe the response from the owner/manager. So much love for the 343 and the menagerie in general which is why this was so surprising.
