On behalf of the village of Clifton Reynes and all of the Robin Hood Consortium, Jon & Sophie welcome you to the Robin Hood.
The Robin Hood Inn is located in the village of Clifton Reynes, just ten miles from Central Milton Keynes and a six minute drive from the thriving old market town of Olney. Its idyllic location is in the heart of the village and the original pub dates back to 1577, although the current building is much younger.
In October 2017, the pub was purchased by a consortium of 46 local people to safeguard the future of this greatly respected community asset. Not only was there a huge local enthusiasm in making the purchase but we are indebted to Dentons, one of the top global law firms who kindly donated their legal services to the venture. The first activity has been to refurbish the outside and this has now been completed with the installation of replacement windows and new external decorations. We even managed to clean off the old moss to expose the old clay and concrete roof tiles. In the last year the old fireplace in the bar was ripped out, and the inglenook reinstated, interior areas have had a spruce up and the conservatory has been transformed into a lovely restaurant dining space.
After a period of being run by the consortium and a group of volunteers, award winning Chef Jon Adriaenssens formerly of the Multi Award Winning and 2018 Pub of the Year, The Bell & Bear in Emberton and his partner Sophie took over the day to day management of the pub in December 2018, at the time alongside their own venue, but now exclusively, working in conjunction with the village owners, the aim is to safeguard the pub in the long term and make it a fabulous destination for all around to socialise, eat, drink and be merry!
The village and local community now has a warm and friendly asset, where everyone including families and dogs are always welcome. Kids love the new play area and the adults can challenge each other on our Skittles table.
The Robin Hood is just fifteen minutes drive from Central Milton Keynes or ten minutes from M1 Junction 14. It’s also a delightful 20 minute stroll across the meadows from Olney, so you can have a beer or two and not have to worry about driving home!
We serve a good range of Real Ales, Lagers, Ciders, Fine Wines and Spirits.
We have large outside sitting area that is a real suntrap.
We welcome thirsty and hungry walkers, especially if they leave their muddy boots inside the back porch!
Our restaurant serves some of the area's most outstanding cuisine with a Modern British menu by 2017 MK chef of the year, Jon Adriaenssens and his team. Our menu is concise and fresh, with classical and modern techniques alongside some pub grub classics, meaning there is something for everyone.
We are able to offer outside catering and functions as well as facilities for large parties in marquees in our garden.
We all have big things planned for this little pub in the long term, we always welcome advice and feedback. Pop in for a pint and a chat!
