Drawing inspiration from America’s vibrant food and drink scene, each dish reflects different elements of the country’s cultural identity, whilst the signature cocktail menu has been inspired by past American presidents. Under the leadership of the Executive Chef, Pablo Peñalosa Nájera’s, formerly at MNKY HSE, POTUS will serve the highest quality interpretations of America’s most-revered and well-loved classic dishes.
Set to draw crowds of Londoners and tourists alike, POTUS’ creative menu will see guests enjoy an array of dishes from USDA-Smoked Steak Tartare with crispy chicken skins, cornichons and mustard bourbon dressing to San Francisco Cioppino with spiced lobster broth, sea bream, scallops and clams. With new takes on firm favourites like the New England Clam Chowder and Truffle Mac & Cheese, the restaurant will utilise the finest and freshest ingredients to portray the diverse American character.
POTUS is also home to an extensive American wine list, a selection of beers, spirits and a signature cocktail menu inspired by US presidents. With everything from the Teddy Smash “Hat Club”, a tribute to Roosevelt’s love for Mojitos, to a JFK & Mary (arguably one of his only true loves), these cocktails will guarantee to get your taste buds tingling. The restaurant and bar, which is located in the Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment, will also host intimate Jazz and Blues evenings throughout the month - the perfect musical companion to any of the POTUS’ vibrant cocktails.
At the helm, Executive Chef Pablo Peñalosa Nájera’s has curated a menu comprised of his favourites, and the recipes have been passed down through generations, discovered whilst travelling and perfected with personal experience. Committed to using the highest quality ingredients and upholding the restaurant’s eco responsibilities, POTUS will only use the freshest ingredients, whilst exclusively sourcing their fish from sustainable fisheries.
Speaking about what POTUS will bring to the Capital, Executive Chef Pablo Peñalosa Nájera commented, “I am delighted to lead the kitchen at POTUS - we truly believe the best connection between people always happens around a table with food and drinks. The cuisine is American, but I don’t want to just showcase the food. The menu is about presenting the emotion and the motives of the Americans who first created them on one plate. We will be changing the menu seasonally in order to showcase the depth of the cuisine, but will continue to utilise London’s great access to the best ingredients throughout the year.”
