It's popular as a pre-drink destination before heading into Manchester city centre or down to road to one of the great bars in Chorlton, but the speciality pizzas and cocktail menus also attracts the local crowd, from families to romantic couples. Even the family dog is made welcome. There are some great imported beers and a good wine selection, but the signature cocktail is a must-try; a cube of brown sugar is rubbed with lemon zest, then dropped into a champagne flute, with a dash of brandy and Angostura bitters, before being topped up with Cava. Divine.
The pizza menu is equally creative, with a tick-box ordering system that lets you customise your toppings easily - then hand your ticket in to the bar and they'll prepare a magnificent stone-baked concoction. If you're looking for a great Sunday roast in Manchester, The Nip and Tipples' is great value at £9.95 for two courses and after a lazy lunch, why not head out to their great patio with a cold beer to enjoy the rest of your weekend.
