Every Thursday is the hugely successful and long running Jazz Re:Freshed night,showcasing some of the most cutting edge musical talents. The stage has been graced by the likes of Fertile Ground, Azymuth, RAMP, Jose James, Flowriders, Elza Soares, Electric Wire Hustle and Dwight Trible – to name just a few. Sunday afternoons are a chilled out affair, where drinkers lounge on well-worn sofas and enjoy local talents jamming into the night, with the best open mic night in London. During the day it’s the perfect haven from the hustle of Portobello Market. One of West London’s most ‘real’ hang outs, where you can come and play pool, and allowed to bring in your own food. Mau Mau is, in fact, so retro that it only accepts payments in cash. So leave your plastic at home, put a few cocktails down, and feel the irie vibe.
