The idea for “Il Cicchetto” came to us in Australia, in a moment of complete foolhardiness during a hot, autumnal afternoon in March 2010. We didn’t know what or how, but we felt that something great was about to begin. We didn’t know what or how, but we felt that something great was about to begin. So, overcoming all of our doubts, fears and uncertainties, we, Roberto and Marilena, eventually decided to accept the challenge. But it was only on our return to London, in January 2011, that our idea started taking shape and becoming more tangible and defined: before we knew it, the road to “Il Cicchetto” was paved.
Finally, on the 2nd June 2011, we inaugurated a new, revolutionary “Italian bar with a British touch”, a perfect blend of authentic Italian quality and the traditional English pub.
Located in the very heart of Old Street, this little corner of Italy is attracting growing interest, thanks to its peculiar ambience and its chameleonic capability of mixing music, wine, beer and food in a perfect blend of Venetian and Sicilian tradition.
