One of our premier racing fixtures of the season, The Cardinal Stakes is the final stop on The European Road to the Kentucky Derby, presented by Woodford Reserve,. With £100,000 of prize money and qualification for the 150th Kentucky Derby at stake, it promises to be a dramatic conclusion to the series of seven races. 

For racing enthusiasts, The Cardinal Stakes promises excitement, tradition, and the prospect of witnessing future racing legends in the making.

After racing, there's no need to go anywhere else. We'll be celebrating this special fixture with DJ Marky T hosting a live DJ set and after-racing party in the Sports Bar until 8:30p.m. Dance and sing along to party classics and Americana hits, and make Chelmsford City Racecourse the venue for a fantastic Saturday night.

As a token of our appreciation for your understanding for race time changes, all racegoers for the day — both existing and new bookings — will be treated to a complimentary Mint Julep, the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby.
