Donnington has set the stage for the some of the biggest and most memorable heavy metal and rock shows the planet has ever seen, from Slipknot’s legendary performance in 2009 to AC/DC hat-trick way back when it was still called Monsters of Rock in the 80s. June 2016 will see Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden grace the main stage of the legendary rock festival, with other bands including Megadeth, Korn and Deftones.

It’s also regarded as a baptism of fire for new bands, with a wide variety of styles on offer to punish your eardrums with. Whether you're into Glam, Hardcore, Power Metal, Emo, Thrash, Death Metal or good ol’ Pirate Metal, Download Festival has the tunes for you to mosh, circle pit and Wall of Death to (use the punks as shields, the spikes are always a winner). Wear your bruises like a mark of pride.
