We enjoyed singing along to the Kareoke, and when the first guy who was singing had finished we went up the DJ and experienced very rude standoffish and quite frankly inappropriate behaviour from the DJ (dressed in a police officers outfit). We asked to request a song and following this request the DJ rudely exclaimed, that we hadn't ordered a drink yet and that we they had been watching us and we had been in the bar for 10 minutes and hadn't yet ordered a drink, so if we didn't go to the bar and buy something we would have to leave. None of this was said in a kind or even jesting tone, it was plain rude. She then told my friend to 'not give me that face' in a patronising and defensive tone, which of course lead to us turning on our heels and making a hasty exit. Before we could even pick up our stuff the DJ had called over the security guard to reitarate what they had already told us (to buy a drink or leave), but by now there was no way we were staying for a drink anyways. Still had a brilliant night along canal street, just a shame we were met with so much hostility at a venue that promised a lot of fun.
