I had a burger (The Works), a pint and a G&T. I enjoyed the handmade sauces. The service was great. The beer garden is great. I liked it there and I will definitely go again

Had our works Xmas party here on Sunday. Meant to be £15 a head. Was given a voucher to the value of £3.50 where we had the luxury of such a fantastic choice of drinks (that’s sarcasm by the way). Was given a voucher to the value of £3.50 where we had the luxury of such a fantastic choice of drinks (that’s sarcasm by the way). The choice was a pint of Amstel and a house spirit with a mixer. Really? I don’t like lager but asked the barman if I could use the voucher and pay on top for a pint of real ale. The answer was no. Very accommodating. My partner went to the bar later on to ask for the cocktail menu and the barman couldn’t find one. So then she asked how does she know what to choose. The reply was “I’ll just make whatever you want?” Really? What sort of attitude is that? It’s like going to a restaurant and asking for a menu and they say no we don’t have one but I’m sure the chef can make you whatever you want. The food wasn’t really that great for our buffet. Pigs in blankets, stuffing balls, chicken burgers and that’s pretty much it. Boring and uninspiring. £15 a head I expected a little more than that. Won’t be returning.
