Venue spotlight: Lit Clapham
End-of-summer blues getting you down? Your life feeling a little less ‘lit’ than usual? Fear not, for there’s one venue in town that’s gonna change all that. Lit in Clapham is a brand-new late-night venue offering the best in EDM, house, and garage music, so you can party the night away in - let’s face it - London’s best borough. Every Friday, Saturday, and even Thursday night, Lit will be hosting the best club nights in town. They have the best dancers, an amazing LED and laser light show, smoke machines, CO2 cannons and more, in a new venture from Flex FM that is leaving Infernos quaking in their proverbial boots.

Co-owner Ashley Letchford says that Lit is the place to be for great entertainment, dancers, and DJs. Speaking to the Wandsworth Press, Letchford said: “It’s a great place to come and let your hair down really. We’ve got cool DJs, great dancers and all the entertainment. Plus, on Saturday nights we’re empowering women by booking female-only DJs.” What was previously Fu Manchu has been transformed by Letchford into Lit over the first and subsequent lockdowns. Letchford has owned the south London venue for six years but was forced to close when the first lockdown meant nightclubs were no longer viable.
Mr Letchford is adamant that the 16-month closure due to the coronavirus hasn’t been an entirely bad thing, and that he wasn’t worried at all about the industry’s recovery in the long-term. "The closure gave us time to formulate and conceptualise a new brand with a view to launch when allowed. We didn't know what was going to happen but when they approached me it was a no brainer as I knew the industry would come through at some stage."
