Festival preview: One Out Festival
Thought that, with the end of August looming, festival season is basically over and done with for the year? Well, you thought wrong. Here to help us shake off those end of summer blues is One Out festival.
One Out Festival is a brand-new festival taking place on the 25th September in Walton-on-Thames, on the London/Surrey border. Making its hugely anticipated debut, One Out will be transforming the lush green landscapes of Apps Court Farm into... absolute carnage! Set over two stages and featuring a whole host of other fantastical activities (including a ferris wheel!!), One Out is already poised for true greatness.
Getting there is easy too. With its prime location, just west of Kingston-upon-Thames (big up west London!) and just east of Thorpe (you know, the one with the rollercoasters), One Out boasts a convenient one-train journey from London Waterloo to Hampton Court station. From there, the organisers have laid on a *free* shuttle bus to and from the venue. So, there’s no excuse not to go.
The line-up is looking pretty peng. On the main stage, Hannah Wants will be headlining, with Danny Howard, Low Steppa, Mambo Brothers, Monki, Philip George, Sam Divine, and Weiss bringing up the rear. Wants is a professional-footballer-turned -house-music-legend. Wants has become one of the biggest stars in the global electronic scene with a loyal fan base and dedicated touring schedule that continues to flourish on a worldwide scale. 2019 was Hannah’s biggest summer yet! It saw her grace a scorching European season that took her everywhere from Pacha in Ibiza to headline slots performing to over 16,000 ravers at Leeds Festival.

Danny Howard is an absolute icon of dance music – he has managed to carve out a unique role for himself within the industry, as a champion and godfather of dance. He’s best known for presenting the flagship BBC Radio 1 dance and electronic music show, eponymously named Dance Anthems with Danny Howard. In 2019, he launched his own imprint Nothing Else Matters as an independent label, with influential DJs from Gerd Janson to Kill Frenzy, Raumakustik to Waze & Odyssey, making an appearance.
And of course, we couldn’t possibly *not* mention Sam Divine. Career success has come thick and fast for Divine over the last few years – it’s difficult to know where to begin. 2019 saw her debut appearance at London’s famous Printworks venue, where she returned on New Year’s Day alongside her Defected crew. In September she was invited by Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong to record a coveted Essential Mix – a true marker of how far her career has come. On the Fever Stage, Roger Sanchez will be making waves alongside Fat Tony, Horse Meat Disco, Krystal Klear, LA LA, and the Mendez Brothers. Dale Castel and Lucid will also be taking their residence on stage. Roger Sanchez won a Grammy Award for his remix of "Hella Good" by No Doubt in 2003, and is best known for his song "Another Chance", which was an international hit in 2001. He is a four-time DJ Awards winner for "Best House DJ" in 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2007 and has received twelve nominations in total. It’s going to be absolutely exhilarating to have an old-school legend like Roger Sanchez in lil ole’ Walton-upon-Thames. We hope the good people of Walton can handle it.
Unfortunately, there’s no room at One Out for last-minute ticket buyer – One Out has been sold out for weeks. We’re super jealous of anybody with tickets. You can find out more here.
