Enter, HiJingo!
Bingo has earned itself a bad rep over the years. It’s often thought of as being solely the preserve of retirees in sleepy seaside towns who have nothing better to do on a Tuesday afternoon. Bingo halls are often run-down, rickety old buildings, and they don’t usually offer a lot in the way of bottomless brunches, cocktail happy hours, and Insta-opportunities.
However, all that is changing. Bringing bingo out of the community halls, HiJingo! is a brand-new, high-concept bingo hall for the twenty-first century. Even KSI is playing it. It feels more like a nightclub than anything else, and that’s the point. Bringing you all-night-vibes and a whole host of crazy events, HiJingo! looks set to be the best biggest thing on the nightlife scene. The experience you get is phenomenal; upon arrival, you start off in The Lucky Cat bar where you and your friends enjoy the pre-show suspense over some drinks.
When it’s showtime, make your way to The Tunnel and towards the electrifying HiJingo! Room. There you’ll find mind-blowing video & motion graphics, stadium-grade lighting, and a killer soundtrack will have you on the edge of your seat as you are fully immersed in the show. The projections and motion graphics come from design studio The Experience Machine - better known for their work with Jay-Z, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Skepta. This is some proper A-list stuff.
The food and drinks also look insanely good; treat yourself to a street-food inspired feast, with Miso Salted Caramel Fried Chicken, Pork Belly Skewers, and Hoisin Confit Duck Croquettes, to tickle and tantalise your taste buds. There’s also an incredible veggie menu available, with Aubergine 'Wings' and Truffle Mushroom Spring Rolls available. There’s also a whole host of mains and desserts!! On Sunday, HiJingo! offers a £45pp bottomless brunch which includes a welcome cocktail from a selected few, followed by your choice of a brunch main course, and bottomless Prosecco and Heineken.
It’s the brainchild of Adam Breeden and the co-founder of Rebel Bingo, James Gordon. Gordon Breeden is the super-successful, tech-savvy founder of some of the most popular novelty venues in London. Puttshack, All Star Lanes, Bounce; he co-founded them all.
In an interview with This is Money, Breeden defines HiJingo! as a “super-tech rocket fuel concept” that aims to completely transform everything we know and love about bingo. He continued: “Bingo has been dying a death for decades and no one has really looked at how to shape it for the 18–30-year-olds. HiJingo! is going to be extremely high energy and will involve ground-breaking production technology including the latest in music concept production combined with great bingo”.
Clearly, HiJingo! is something that we haven’t seen before. Is it set to be the new London craze, like the Cereal Killer Café was before it?! We hope so. You can book here.
