Canning Town is getting its very own open-air club

There’s been a lot of speculation about what the London nightlife scene is going to look like this summer. With 21st June being the date set by the government for the current lockdown restrictions to ease completely, there’s a lot of excitement about the new possibilities in store for us this summer.

Something that we can all get excited about is the news that Stuart Glen – the man behind the popular warehouse club The Cause in Tottenham Hale – has co-founded a brand-new shipping container hub, Ernie’s Yard. It will be popping up in Canning Town on June 25th, just in time for the first weekend after lockdown restrictions are due to be lifted.

The venue has already been rumoured to be collaborating with promoters including Secretsundaze, Goodlife, Syzygy, Adonis, Percolate, Warm Up, Art of Dark, Feelings Worldwide, and more. Housing multiple bars, an enviable line-up of pop-up food stalls, and plenty of space for dancing, Ernie’s Yard is all set to be the new focal point of the East London clubbing scene. The best part is that Ernie’s Yard will be a completely open-air structure! This means that people can party well into the night in a COVID-safe environment. In fact, to celebrate the grand opening, Ernie’s Yard will be hosting a series of twelve-hour, open-air dance parties (to make up for all the dancing we have missed out on over the past year).

Not even a global health crisis can stop Ernie’s Yard from being a hit. Neither can bad weather, as the site also boasts tents and clear roofing so that not even the British weather can stop us dancing.

Stuart Glen said of the new venture, “It’s been a sticky situation to say the least but somehow we’ve managed to pull in some favours, met an East End legend called Ernie and Bob's your fathers’ brother - ‘Ernie’s Yard’ was born - a killer new daytime space for London.”
