Liverpool Clubs Set To Open Early Under Government Pilot
The government has announced a COVID-19 pilot plan in which clubbers in Liverpool will be given the opportunity to go clubbing early.
According to the Telegraph, though in conjunction with step two of the roadmap on 12 April, Liverpool partygoers will be able to attend clubs prior to the official opening of clubs elsewhere in the UK.
While the lockdown is due to officially lift on 21 June, the pilot plan which will provide data for The Events Research Programme to accurately assess the risk of events and intimate social environments.
This is particularly important to create a plan for how large-scale events and venues can operate after the lockdown is lifted.
In this trial, attendees and staff at venues will be required to test several protective measures and resources such as face coverings and ventilation.
Further, attendees will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before taking part and will be closely monitored after.
These tests have been described as “crucial” for safe attendance in venues without social distancing, by Oliver Dowden, the UK’s culture secretary.
