Coachella Festival to reschedule for the second time
The world’s number one festival won’t go down without a fight.
The highly anticipated festival was originally set to take place in April but with the current climate being the way it is the festival was rescheduled for the first time to October.
However, recent reports state that Coachella has been asking its artists on the line-up If they would be willing to play in 2021 instead, this in turn implying that there could be no Coachella this year entirely.
The report by Bloomberg states that many artists accepted this request whereas others would turn it down due to health and finance reasons.
The area of which the festival takes place has been struck hard by coronavirus, it is very likely that social distancing measures would still be in place whenever the festival were to get underway. The average capacity of a Coachella festival is 200,000 you can only imagine how difficult it would be to put these measures in place.
CEO of Live Nation, Michael Rapino makes it very clear that he hopes for next year to be a realistic date of larger events to return with normality. In discussion he went on to say, “We believe 2021 can return to show volume and fan attendance at levels consistent with what we’ve seen in recent years”.
