Live your best life at Festival of the Dead! Join the macabre carnival at any of its multiple locations, running from May through November.

Where to Go 

Drop into any of the Festival’s landing spots around the UK! Hit up the O2 Academy in Glasgow on 20 May and cruise down to Plymouth’s Pryzm on 1 June. Make your way to Belfast’s Mandela Hall on 6 October, swerve to Liverpool’s Mountford Hall on the thirteenth, and pop over to the Halloween celebration at Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre on the 27th. Catch Edinburgh’s leg of the Dead on the 28th, and celebrate Halloween night at the O2 Academy in Newcastle! Cruise into November with Brighton’s Pryzm on the third, head to Bournemouth’s O2 Academy on the tenth, and round things off on the 25th at Bristol’s O2.

What’s Going On? 

Obviously you’re ready for some skull action, but what’s actually happening?

It’s not the kind of festival that might spring to mind — it probably includes quite a few more bones, for one thing — but it’s possibly even better! The Dead Fest hosts outlandish performances from pole artists, gymnasts, and fire dancers, all in awe-inspiring costume. We’re talking stacks of skulls, facepaint illusions, and even the odd red velvet sombrero.

Día de los Muertos

 A festival celebrating death and the underworld sounds a bit morbid, especially as many of its dates are nowhere near Halloween. The idea actually derives from the Mexican Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Partiers get into the spirit by applying face paint, decorating sugar skulls, and offering snacks to deceased friends and relatives. Gets the sombreros in perspective, for one thing! We hope we’ve gotten you into prime death gear, skulls and all! We’re hotly anticipating the manic carnival vibe — the fire dancers, especially.
