Green Man Festival ’17

Green Man Festival ’17

It’s the winner of two UK Festival Awards, and for good reason! The Blue Man Group’s little-known relative, Green Man, is bursting to life between 17-20 August at Brecon Beacons, South Wales.

Music

As always, we’ve got an incredible lineup this year. Saint Etienne will make a splash with their alternative beats. PJ Harvey, Ryan Adams, and Future Islands are all making an appearance. The Shins will be rocking their distinctive ethereal sound. Ride, Michael Kiwanuka, and Tempest are storming the stage. Lambchop, Julian Cope, and Hurray for the Riff Raff will get our best moves out of us. There are too many stellar acts to name, but trust us, it’ll be everything.

Comedy

Looking for laughs? As well as auditory awesomeness, Green Man’s hosting some of the best comedic talent for a weekend of nonstop hilarity.

The hilarious Josie Long is guaranteed to get you grinning, as well as the fiendishly deadpan Rob Deering and brand-new duo Lazy Susan. Jen Brister, Emma Sidi, and Lolly Adefope are also searching for sides to split.

Where to Go

Green Man is comprised of ten areas, each more exciting than the last. Who doesn’t need a spiritual awakening, for example, every once in a while?

There’s Fortune Falls, described as a ‘shamanic hideaway’ — and, I mean, who doesn’t need one of those? — Far Out, for psychedelic antics day and night; Little Folk, a child-friendly family zone; The Courtyard, a Gothic flint stable block; The Walled Garden, an enchanted grassy hideaway; Somewhere, an activity arena for 13-17-year-olds; Nature Nurture, for something called ‘health and holistic rejuvenation’ (what we need after a couple days at any festival); Mountain’s Foot, the headline amphitheatre; Einstein’s Garden, where you can flex those mental muscles with music and, intriguingly, time travel; and Babbling Tongues, where the philosophically-minded can kick back amidst a stream of conversation and debate. Sound like your thing? I mean, we’re down for all of the above.

We encourage you to get tickets soon — if they sell out, we’re sure you’ll be green with envy! (See what we did there?) Book your spots, pack your stuff and get ready for comedy/time travel/holistic rejuvenation in the paradise that is South Wales!
