Demon Dayz Festival ’17
Ready to Feel Good? Gorillaz are set to take the stage for their first UK show in four years on 10 June! Demon Dayz, a one-day festival at Dreamland in Margate, is sure to be a one-of-a-kind event.
The Spot
What exactly is Dreamland? We’re glad you asked. It’s a revamped amusement park hosting a combination of vintage rides, art installations, bars, food, and live events. Glide around on the Crazy Mouse to Clint Eastwood’s gentle refrain. There’s also the seafront, of course, offering an appropriately dreamy view from the refurbished 1930’s Cinque Ports pub and JMW Turner rooftop bar.
VIP Action
Entrants can choose from two types of VIP ticket: Hut and Garden. What do they include? Well, with the Hut you’re given access to an exclusive festival space with up to twenty guests, a chiller full of hard and soft drinks, and lunch in an exclusive fenced area. Sounds fab so far! The Garden Experience comes complete with bar service, a private garden spot, and, most importantly, commemorative VIP laminates and lanyards. We’ll try to fight the urge to wrap them around our wrists and flail them in people’s faces, ready to regale them with anecdotes.
Who’s Playing?
Damon Albarn, whose collaborative efforts brought this festival into being, has promised the appearance of almost every contributing artist on the Gorillaz’ newest album. Names include Noel Gallagher, the iconic Mavis Staples, Carly Simon of You’re So Vain renown, the incredible Grace Jones, De La Soul, Savages’ Jehnny Beth, Pusha T, Danny Brown, Vince Staples, Kelela, and D.R.A.M.
We can’t wait for the official star-studded lineup to be revealed. Either way, you’ll find us on one of the rides — the Teacups, probably, or the Brooklands Speedway. See you there!
