Splendour in the Grass! 2017

Something about the mention of 22 July standing your hair on end? Last year, it bagged Best Festival at the Live Music Business Awards. Ringing any bells? If it’s not coming to you, we’ll help you out — it’s the date of this year’s Splendour Festival! Taking place in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, we’re excited for a day and night at the city’s biggest — and hottest — musical event.

The Main Event(s)

First things first — let’s talk headliners! The phenomenal Kaiser Chiefs are set to blow us away as the presiding act of the festival. We Predict a Riot when we try and get to the front of the stage! Alongside the Chiefs, we can’t wait to bask in the nostalgic glow of Busted. We’re still lip syncing to ‘Year 3000,’ and defy any festival-goer to deny that claim themselves! Tony Hadley of 80‘s hit machine Spandau Ballet will make an appearance, generating a huge buzz amongst younger and older crowds. We’ll also be hearing from Grammy Winner Billy Ocean on the Confetti Stage, as well as searing rock band Black Grape and indie treasure British Sea Power. And as for your powerful female vocalists, we’ve got the unforgettable Gabrielle Aplin, whose debut album ‘English Rain’ was recently certified gold in the UK, and singer-songwriter Georgie, who’s signed to Columbia records and is working on her debut album. Exciting times!

Eye of the Tiger

Have you got what it takes to embody the Future Sound of Nottingham? It’s not a title to take lightly, but if you’re currently unsigned and think you’re up to the challenge, the festival is offering the opening slot of the Main Stage to the winning act. For inspiration, you can head to the Acoustic Rooms Stage for a listen of Voice contestants Into the Ark.

The Best Medicine

Love to laugh? I mean, who doesn’t? Over on the Funhouse Comedy Stage, we’ll be L our AO to funny people including Jim Smallman, Wes Zaharuk, Jollyboat,  Steve Royle (who’s also a professional juggler!), Scott Bennett, and Barry Dodds.

Back to the Future

We’ll keep our knees flexin’ and our arms T-rexin’ for Splendour’s amazing partnership with the Dinosaurs of China exhibition. Available to VIP ticket holders, it includes a dazzling array of fossils, and key findings involving (spoiler alert) birds! Not since Barney have music and dinosaurs gone together so well. Other premium benefits include access to the splendiferous VIP garden, an outdoor screen with picnic and seating area, special exclusive entertainment, edible offerings, a private bar, and luxury toilets (!). Which of those is not a festival necessity?! We’re pre-booking now.

We hope we’ve convinced you to join us there, where you’ll experience the sounds of the past, present, and future. Here’s to another award-winning night!
