Latitude Festival
Looking forward to summer? Let us add another thing to get excited about! This year’s Latitude Festival is taking place from 13-16 July in the exotic paradise that is Suffolk’s Henham Park.
Taking the Stage
We’re making Snake Eyes at this year’s Latitude line-up. That’s right, Mumford and Sons are set to headline on Saturday Night! Get ready for the haunting refrain of ‘I Will Wait for You,’ our fave hit. We’ve also got the unforgettable 1975, playing hits from their album ‘I Like it When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.’ (Which met with critical acclaim — although when we said that to our neighbour across the hall, we received a less enthusiastic response.) Fleet Foxes bring the festival to a fabulous close on Sunday night. This is their first British performance in five years, so we’re feeling pretty special. Other phenomenalicious acts include Placebo, RIDE, and Fatboy Slim. Performance art will be headed by the ethereally talented BalletBoyz and Sadler’s Wells dance team. And get ready for the Comedy Arena, which welcomes travelling rave Hot Dub Time Machine, bubblegum pop set Guilty Pleasures, and the genre-fusion masters that are Buttoned Down Disco.
Luxe Life
Sick of the daily grind? Now you can be treated like the Lord or Lady of Luxury you are, with Latitude’s Luxury camping package. Tickets are on sale now! What does it include? Two people can book from a selection of yurts, tipis, canvas ridge ad bell tents (or book all four and hop around), four can choose between deluxe bell house pr bedouin tents, and teen campers can elect to hole themselves up in specially designated Teen Tents. The campsite features a private bar, a kids’ cinema tent (we’re double-checking whether it’s just for kids, because it sounds pretty entertaining), baggage porter service, spa and salon services, a 24-hour concierge, and, of course, glamorous VIP toilets and showers. Breakfast is included, so if you prefer to listen to your favorite music after eggs on toast, this is the package for you.
The Green Message
Applications are now open for a spots on Latitude’s Green Messengers team. (Unfortunately, it doesn’t have anything to do with leprechauns. We called to confirm.) You’ll basically be an environmental cheerleader: handing out recycling and composting bags (fun!), managing recycling points, running the cup and bottle deposit, and offering green advice to campers and stewards. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy the acts of the day! Apply online to dedicate yourself to become a friend of the earth.
That’s not all that Latitude’s got in store for us. It’ll be jam-packed with extra festivities, and we can’t begin to wrap our heads around the variety. Come meet us there — all we can say, is, neon pink sheep.
