Beginners guide to Sundown Festival

If you’re looking for the perfect way to spend a summer weekend that includes a lot of parties and Jason Derulo, we think we’ve found the answer. On the 2nd-4th September, Sundown festival is once again going to take over Norfolk Showground in Norwich to host some of the hottest music artists in the world right now. So whether you’re looking for a way to splash that extra cash you earnt this month, or you’re unsure if this is the festival for you, here is the only guide to Sundown festival you’ll ever need.

The Line-Up

So we’ve already let it slip that Mr Derulo will be tearing up the stage at Sundown this year, but he is set to be in some very good company. On Saturday, the stage will be dominated by Chase and Status, Jess Glynne, Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Becky Hill, Ms Dynamite, M.O, Espa, My Nu Leng and others. On Sunday, you’ll be joined by Years & Years, Krept & Konan, Fleur East, Sigala, Anne-Marie, Stooshe, Blonde, Wilkinson and many more. This line-up is full of some pop-legends, talented rappers and dance acts that will keep you on your feet all day and all night. It’s so diverse that even the biggest group of friends could go along and find something to keep everybody happy.

Camps, parties and apps

The folks at Sundown believe that camping is a “go hard or go home” kinda experience, so for anyone who feels like spending their nights living it up in a tent, they’ve sorted you out with everything you need for this to be the perfect festival experience. Combining old school camping with some more modern luxuries, you’ll have access to cold beers at the campsite off licence, pay as you go showers, lockers, phone charging, ATMs, pamper parlours, cafes… pretty much anything you’ll ever need. Plus, if you happen to forget a sleeping bag or maybe even your tent, there is a Camping store available where you can purchase all those vital things which slipped your mind. Campers are all welcome on site from 11am on Friday 2nd September. If you’re bringing young children or you are a parent who doesn’t want to be stuck in the middle of all the night action, there is a Family Campsite available. Or, if you feel you could do with something a little more glamourous than a 4-man Argos tent, then you can also check out the ‘glamping’ options, which are all being brought to you by ZooBells. We’re talking posh bell tents with stylish furnishings and Egyptian cotton….BUT, that’s not even the best part about camping. No, the best part is that you’ll have exclusive access to the Big Top Opening Party with Danny Howard. And, let’s not forget the Big Top After Party on Saturday too. So, this is how your weekend will shape up - after starting the festival in a the form of a kick-ass party, you’ll have a day of watching some of your favourite artists before you dance all night. And then, you can collapse in your tent for a quick snooze before doing it all again on Sunday! This year, Sundown Fest has created an app for all you lucky people going along. If you download now, you’ll have prime access to all the latest news and you’ll be the first to hear the super-secrets reveals they have planned…

Tickets and Travel

If everything we have said so far has tickled your pickle and you fancy yourself a weekend at Sundown, a weekend ticket will cost you £80, or £110 if you want to camp. What a bargain to see some of the world’s hottest artists! If you only fancy one day, you’ll only have to fork out £42.50. There are a couple of other options which might take your fancy too – for an extra £35, you can become VIP for the weekend and be treated like Sundown royalty. You’ll have access to the VIP area right next to the main stage where you can take a seat in the Arabian tent, munch on the boutique catering, take a trip to the VIP loos or see your favourite act do a private set on the acoustic stage. Very tempting indeed….. Also, for any of you who are super impatient and want to get yourself into the thick of the festival as soon as possible, you can purchase a Fast Track pass which will give you a speedy entrance to the fest for just £10.

Norwich train station is 5 miles from the arena, but Sundown will have regular shuttle buses running throughout the weekend, meaning getting to the festival by train is probably the easiest way to get yourself there. If you’re more of a coach person, you can catch a Big Green Bus or the National Express which will be running directly to the arena from 6 locations – Birmingham, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich and London Victoria. And, of course, if you fancy driving yourself there then parking will cost you just £20 for the whole weekend.Sundown Festival really does have it all.
