El Dorado Festival

Deep in the heart of the Midlands is a land of streets paved with gold and layered with lakes and jungles. It’s a land so beautiful you may never want to leave… and it’s a land created by the biggest party creators in the business. This magical place that we are talking about has been created by the brilliant minds at Cirque Du Soul. After partying up and down the country for the past few months, there about to throw their biggest bash yet – welcome to El Dorado Festival. Taking place from the 1st-3rd July at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire, this event is set to change the festival scene as we know it, and we at Licklist towers have created your guide to what is sure to be the craziest party of the summer.

The “lost” Line-Up

Not only are El Dorado treating us to their very first festival, but they’ve also managed to bag the man of the moment as the headline act – that’s right, Craig David’s TS5 will be taking centre stage and giving us a taste of his exclusive pre-party that is normally saved for his Miami penthouse. Joining him is a Basement Jaxx DJ Set and the likes of Artful Dodger, Barely Legal, Blonde and Clean Cut Kid. You will also be seeing appearances from king of grime Kano, soul-reggae genius Ady Suleiman, My Nu Leng & Dread MC.

Some very special friends of El Dorado and the best party starters in the business are also coming along to join the fun so keep a look out for the notorious Cheese on Bread, Shorebitch, Rum and Bass and a few more. With these guys involved, you don’t want to be missing out! To get yourself in the mood, check out their playlist on Spotify by searching “El Dorado Festival Playlist” and give yourself a little taste of what that weekend has in store for you, or check out some more info here.

The “ancient” arena

El Dorado are stopping at nothing to make this the most memorable weekend ever, so you better be expecting the extraordinary. The whole of the arena will be made up to create this kingdom where your dream will all come true, so it’s most likely you’ll be joined by mermaids, clowns, pranksters, the lot! The arena will have 5 stages – the Main Stage, the “Cirque Du Soul (where burlesque meets bass and the best DJ’s around), The Lost Ruins, The Boudoir and Treasure Island. Although the acts on the main stage will finish at 11pm, there will be late night stages open to explore until 4am. Who needs sleep when there’s music to dance to and new acts to discover?

So, as the whole site is going to be transformed, you’re going to get the atmosphere of a proper carnival - we’re talking freak show, circus performers, lake swimming, gourmet food stalls and lots more. There will also be a great selection of alcohol for all the over 18s, from real ale to cocktail deals, so make sure you have enough cash to cover all your cravings.

The campsite is going to be located just a few metres from the arena, so you’ll never be too far away from the action. Just like every other festival out there, there’s probably

going to be some issues with smelly toilets and hour-long shower queues, so make sure to stock up on some essential items before you arrive so you don’t have to miss any of the acts – think baby wipes, toilet roll, dry shampoo – the usual. However, if traditional camping isn’t really your thing, El Dorado have teamed up with Club Class to give you an area with luxury showers, real toilets and a large pamper lounge with GHD’s, hair dryers and make up mirrors. Sounds like heaven, right? With an extra cost of £35 to your ticket, this all could be yours. There’s even an option to stay in campervans or a ‘boutique camping’ where you can rent out a Tipi for you and your mates.

Getting yourself to this “magical” manor

Ledbury town is located right in the midst of the East Midlands, and is only 2 hours from London and Manchester, or just 1 hour from Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff. If you fancy driving to the fest and leaving your car, there’s just a small charge of £5 to park and keep it safe. There will also be direct coaches by National Express leaving from London Victoria or you can take a train to Ledbury station, where taxis will be on call to drop you at the fest’s doorstep. Everything’s been made so simpl

e by the folks at El Dorado, so really, it would be rude to let them down!

Tickets for the fest cost £90 plus an £11.50 booking charge, and this includes access to the festival from Friday to Sunday and allows you to camp there for the weekend too. Alternatively, if you can only spend one day getting lost in this mystical kingdom, day tickets cost £45. Cirque have been blowing up the club scene for the past few months, so it’s guaranteed that this festival is going to go OFF. Like what you’ve hear? You know what to do now… head over to http://eldoradofestival.com/#b uy-tickets-now and get ready for a weekend you will never forget.
