Beginners guide to Wildlife

Disclosure’s WILD LIFE started out as ‘tiny and sweaty east London parties’ before eventually graduating to bespoke stages at Glastonbury, Unknown and Exit fest. Soon they were popping up in major cities across the western world.

Last year, they got so massive that Disclosure teamed up with fellow EDM darlings Rudimental to put on a WILD LIFE festival, a full weekend featuring live sets curated by the both bands to put on an orgiastic display of the music they love.  Naturally, the inaugural festival was a complete success and WILD LIFE festival won ‘Best New Festival of 2015’. Because of course it did.

But we’re not bitter here at Licklist Towers so we’ve thrown together a little guide to help you help Disclosure make more money than God. That is, have a fantastic time at one of the most exciting emergent festivals to strut its way into your summer calendar in years.

All jealous grumbles aside, Disclosure and Rudimental know exactly how to craft a line up. Last year, they snagged blues baritone boy George Ezra to headline alongside Sam Smith and the undisputed Queen of House radio, the impeccable Annie Mac. Sprinkle that with a bit of Jamie XX and you’d be forgiven for thinking that was as good as it got. How could it have been any better? What could they have added? Well, three words for you. Wu. Tang. Clan. We’ll give you a minute to find your socks that have no doubt been blown off.

So what’re we in for this year? Well we’ve had a wee gander at the line up and can only confirm it’s similarly mint. Alongside the obligatory headline sets of Rudi and Dis themselves, we’ve got a delicious helping of industry legend Carl Cox served up on a plate of crispy techno excellence. Bastille are coming along to round out your evening with a battery of anthems to get the feet stomping and the lighters waiving,Annie Mac will return once again to delight the ears and titillate the senses. Keep your mind and your ears open for the up and coming acts too, though - personal faves Ratboy and Jackmaster will be popping up over the weekend so be sure to check them out, these lads are gonna be big.

Part of the charm of WILD LIFE festival is that it’s abit off the beaten compared to your average EDM fest. Our young festival prodigy is actually in a charming wee seaside and port town called Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex. The fest itself will be taking place in it’s airport. Putting aside how cool that is, you need to be made aware that Shoreham-by-Sea does not offer a reliable source of accommodation. Coaches are running from Brighton, Worthington and, for the first time this year, London so you’ll have to sort your accom in whatever one of these three scenic locations suits you best. Just remember, this isn't a camping event so don't be surprised if security tell you where you can stick your sleeping bag.

Additionally, there’s only a set number of places you can buy legitimate WILD LIFE tickets - there’s been a spat of problems with fraudulent scam sites peddling nonsense  - though fortunately the boys and girls at WILD LIFE have linked all their official ticket agents on the FAQ page of their website which you can find here. Also, WILD LIFE is offering a seriously impressive range of ticket options so those of you with a lighter wallet can get a day in at WILD LIFE - including return bus ticket - for as little as £66.50. If you’re feeling a little more flash, you can sort yourself out with a VIP ticket for the whole weekend at £170. Go on. Treat yourself to a champagne breakfast. We’ll see you in the crowds for an Angus burger and a dance - the boys of Disclosure and Rudimental are angling for their wee festival wunderkind to sweep the awards for a second year in a row so be sure you and your squad are along for the ride!
