Park Life Weekender 2016!
The annual Manchester summer festival is approaching June 11th-June 12th at the Heaton Park!
The Warehouse Project is promoting this year’s northern delight and succeeded well last year with Rudimental and Disclosure headlining and top acts took over the stage, such as, DJ Mark Ronson, DJ Fat Boy Slim, Ella Eyre, Annie Mac, Labrinth, , Duke Dumont, George Ezra, Hannah Wants, Jessie Ware, Jungle, James Blake, James Bay, Fuse Odg, Karen Harding and many more, leaving this year’s Park Life Festival another one to remember!
Who is performing?
The full line up for the 2016 Park Life festival will be available online from 9th February 2016 at 9am…so keep your eyes peeled! The festival has been a popular attraction since 2010 and ever since been expanding with more acts and festive-goers each year…reaching 140,000 people!
What’s on?
There are tents you can rave in like I did a couple of years ago as the shelter enabled me to slay away from the sun and refresh myself, thanks to the bar full of a variation of refreshments- from Somersby apple flavoured cider to a delight of non-alcoholic ice cold drinks, and with the likes of crazy dance anthems to beat up and down too…otherwise you can rewind in a select few tents that are designed for the ultimate chill out factor experience and the option to listen to acoustic music inside them too, with local artists playing away.
There is a vast range of entertainment such as, the sky ride, also called, ‘The Big Wheel’ (similar to ‘The London Eye’) where you can fit a small group of your friends into and ride slowly up high to catch a bird’s eye view of your best artists performing! Another favourite ride is ‘The Log Flume’ where you can truly bounce up and down to the beats in the park in style!
There is also a mixture of cultural foods and drinks available in small stalls such as, Indian food, Chinese food to chicken Caesar wraps or kebabs…or you clench your thirst with the festivals favourite Somersby Cider or fine rose wine…so grab your shades and sip away in the rays!
Transport
Get more involved and venture out on the complimentary free high-top party bus, which will take you on the tour of your life from the heart of the Manchester city centre to the heated wild party in the park!
Otherwise, you can go green with the selection of buses that will be heading towards Heaton Park from just £5 a day, but make sure you plan your trip early enough so you don’t miss out on your favourite act as you will need to prepare yourself for big queues!
There are ‘Park and Ride’ car park areas and trams available for those who would rather drive to Park Life but again plan your journey accordingly as there will be big traffic jams! Or, taxis will be available at the front entrance of the festival, but make sure it is licensed…don’t get too carried away as it is important to consider safety first!
