Blissfield’s Festival 2016
The Hampshire annual festival is coming this June 30th-July 2nd 2016, at Vicarage Farm, Woodmancott, not too far from the wonderful Winchester.
The past years summer shenanigans has consisted of the following top artists- Mumford and sons, Ben Howard, Stereo MC’s, Patrick Wolfe, Bastille, Mike Skinner, Rob Harvey, Swimming Pool and Noisettes. But that’s not all…Channel 4, E4, T4 and 4Music have also taken a like to what the festival has to offer and broadcasted their clips of the event.
Early bird weekend tickets and tier one weekend tickets have already sold out, making this one already a popular event to not miss out on!
Who will be performing?
The rap legend ‘Dizzie Rascal’ will be taking over the stage by headlining for this year’s Blissfield’s mania.
OK here it comes…this year’s top acts that will be dazzling the stage, include, Serial Killaz, Beans on Toast, Everything and Everything, Roni Size & Dynamite me, Sundara Karma, Jones, Dub Pistols, Molotov Jukebox, Too Many T’s, Shorebitch, Subgiant, Will Varley, The Church, Son of Dave, Frankie Forman, One Step Too Late, Blushed, The Diamond Age, Hey Charlie, Only, Deadproud, Unattached, Naina, Fervent, Morgan Hislop, The Great One, Sam Brothers, Ethan Ash, and some more to be announced later on this year!
You can sizzle away in the sun whilst listening to your favourite pop, folk, indie rock ‘n’ roll and electric dance tunes.
What’s on?
A diversity of stage arenas really makes this festival one to visit…get bouncing in ‘The Blisscotheque’ until the early hours of the morning and release your grime side with the raving beats being of mostly grime music, but other genres such as, pop, rock and dance music will also be playing from dancing DJ’s.
One of the favourite stages includes…wait or it…‘The Larch’! This tent attends to a chilled atmosphere with acoustic music; pianist’s and guitarists pulling at their strings and keyboards throughout the day, but then becoming truly alive at night so party goers can celebrate in with the festivity with a collection of electric sounds romping away.
To also keep you going all night long... you can clench your first with a selection of fresh fruity cocktails or sneak away to ‘The Blissfield’s Hobgoblin Beer Festival’ for a traditional cider! To really keep up your energy- a selection of delicious foods from all over the world will also be available…Mmmm!
Otherwise, for those wanting a break from the wild side then the selection of arts and crafts activities is the perfect way to wind down in ‘The Craft Area’…or get sloshy with explosive competitions such as, the yearly pie fight rivalry. Otherwise, get cosy with a selection of midnight films or cackle out loud with a range of comedy acts performing in a separate tent, or take a slump away in ‘The Elysian Lounge’ for a quick cat nap…what more could you ask for?
The Best Small Festival!
The festival was granted ‘The UK Festival Award for Best Small Festival’, in 2007. If that’s not enough then…’Scouting for Girl’s’ were also performing then too!
Even though it is a small festival, the energy and enthusiasm here is incredible. The hypie vibe sends a ‘greener’ message...plus psychedelic music lovers can get lost in a ray of lights and appreciate the range of art architecture which really sets the mood.
The festival gives local artists their time to shine as they can be found singing away in ‘The Den’, otherwise, scurry onwards to ‘The Manor’ arena where the bigger artist headliners can be spotted. They have assigned places for all acts such as, acoustic; with big open imploded tents which truly promote their talent… as well as larger tents to trance away into for those bigger name artists and their larger audience.
In general every section has something incredible for everybody’s desire!
Glamping
The new trend to camping, introduces glamping! Stay over in style in the glamorous ‘Camel Camp’ spacious canvas tents, which accommodates from 2 to 6 festival fanatics!
Forget the inconvenience of plodding down tent pens or carrying heavy poles and settle down in a luxury of air beds, floor rugs, feathery pillows, duvets, sheets, and solar lights whilst overlooking a view of the festive action. There will also be a supply of oak furnished small tables, camp chairs, tea light lanterns and the option to pamper up with the use of toiletries and shower passes to beat the camping blues!
Upon arrival, there will be a reception sending welcomes pack your way and you will be woken up every morning to complimentary fresh tea or coffee…what a better way to say, hey?
