Club Batchwood

This week we’ve decided to take a trip north of London to St. Albans, specifically Club Batchwood. From the outside you wouldn’t know a nightclub hid behind the moss covered walls of this converted Victorian hall but inside beats the heart of one of the most exciting venues around. Still proudly boasting the eye-catching 18th century chandelier that hangs above the dance floor Club Batchwood possesses a touch of class lacking from so many other clubs and that’s just the start of it.

Split across two floors Batchwood has everything you need to have an amazing night out. There’s the great hall, which as you’ve probably gathered is the largest space inside the building. With three bars surrounding the huge dance floor you’ll be hard pressed to squeeze in some shots after throwing one too many shapes. For those wanting to escape the chaos of the great hall there’s the lounge and the attic, both equipped with their own dance floor, DJ and bar.

Whilst a good ol’ fashioned spontaneous knees up is always fun you’d being missing out on what Club Batchwood has to offer. Firstly there’s the VIP package and unlike most clubs that have a few tables for hire, Batchwood has 22 spaces to choose from! These spaces range from booths ideal for a party of four to balconies overlooking the great hall that can accommodate parties of 15. You’re certainly spoilt for choice, but just wait until you hear what Club Batchwood has in the way of packages.

There are six types to choose from, each with a variety of perks so let’s start with the “clubber pack”. Take a Saturday night at Club Batchwood for example, their busiest night of the week. The last thing anybody wants to do is wait in line whilst the parties in full swing, even worse it’s bloody cold when you’ve only got a cocktail dress on. For an extra  £3.60 the clubber pack pays for you entry, your first drink and a fast track ticket (exc. NYE). There’s also the “designated driver” package for the hero amongst you, which for an extra 40p gets them entry, three soft drinks, a cloakroom voucher as well as a queue jump.

We hear you, ‘those deals are good and all but isn’t there something a bit more extravagant?’ Well yes, there is! For those of you that get a little crazy the day after payday or have a few celebrations closing in Club Batchwood have some pricier options to choose from, but that money will go a long way.

Say this Saturday you and five friends want to add a little class to your evening there’s the “celebration pack”, which starts from £103.50. For that there’s a VIP booth or suite with your name on it, 2 bottles of Prosecco, a bottle of Smirnoff Red and six mixers. If that’s still not tickling your fancy we’ll have to bump you up to either the silver, gold or platinum pack. Starting at £153 for silver, £180 for gold and £342 for platinum your party will get a VIP booth, top of the range champagne and spirits and mixers, the quantities of which change depending on your package.

So there you have it, a nightclub that’s not only housed in one of St. Albans many iconic buildings but also decked to the rafters in glamour, glitz and a variety of packages to make it a night to remember. We’d suggest you go see what all the fuss is about.
