Strawberry Fields (Everyone likes a strawberry)

 

On your average day Cattow Farm in Leicester is perfect for basking in the sunshine whilst trying your hand at strawberry picking but as soon as August 7th hits it’ll be filled to the brim with more delicious goodness than you will even know what to do with, all in the form of good music and good fun!

Strawberry Fields is an independent UK music festival in the picturesque village of Heather in North West Leicestershire which is now in its 6th year. The gorgeous surrounding countryside makes the perfect location for this British summertime knees up, think good beer, some old fashioned camping and plenty of fresh air. Oh and some ruddy good music, obviously!

Line-up:

The two day line-up is more mouth-watering than Wimbledon’s finest helping of fresh juicy strawberries and thick delicious cream; feast your eyes on these beauties! Get things started on Friday night from 6pm with a set from Indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club as well as performances from Radio1 DJ MistaJam, acoustic folk duo The Daydream Club as well as a few others to whet your appetite. Friday night also has a comedy stage with performances from up and coming UK comedians including Drapper Laughs, Kane Brown and Graeme Matthews. Things really heat up on the Saturday with main stage performances’ and a drum and base arena there’s far more to keep you feeling full and satisfied. Saturday’s Main Band Stage will see performances from Frankie and The Heartstrings, The Sherlock’s and Court Royal amongst others. The Main Stage will be graced by the likes of Mark Knight, James Dean and producer Kissy Sellout as well as many more. There’s also a Funk Delux and Agenda Arena as well as The Next Generation Band Stage, that’s more variety than even Simon Cowel would know what to do with.

 

Camping Vs Glamping:

Strawberry fields is no exception, expect to be knee deep in mud and covered in grass stains. Although not much is happening on the Sunday you are still able to stay the Saturday night and head home Sunday instead, meaning you really won’t miss any of the action! Plus you can sleep off those festival blues before having to make that dreaded journey home. A weekend ticket including camping comes in at just under £60 or if you want a slightly more exclusive feel to your weekend then upgrade and purchase a VIP ticket. There are three VIP tickets on offer including Silver which will get you access to the VIP area and fast track entry, the gold ticket which will get you an extra 10 free drinks and then the Platinum ticket which will allow you backstage access, a champagne reception and the chance to meet a headlining act!

Extras:

Strawberry fields offers way more than just good music, each year they host a vintage clothes fair known as Strawberry glam with an onsite hair and make-up team ready to help transform your already wonderful selves into something even more spectacular. As well as a load more entertainment including demonstrations from some of the UK`s top graffiti artists, an onsite fun fair, a theatre production company as well as a chance to sit back and enjoy some rest and relaxation in the healing zone, perfect hangover cure. There’s also a wide variety of food and drink on offer, with all that’s on offer you could work up quite the appetite!
