Kendal Calling Calls YOU

Kendal Calling Calls YOU

It seems as though every festival and their dog are celebrating an anniversary this year. Kendal Calling will be blowing out their 10th birthday candles on the weekend of July 30th to August 2nd. The winner of Best Medium Festival 2013 is returning to the Lake District to add to the wildlife noise with unique atmosphere, even when that last G&T has worn off and it’s 5am, you’ll feel something awesome. Across five stages over the four days, Kendal Calling provides you with headliners such as Manchester’s finest indie band, Elbow, a must-see classic before you miss your chance. They will be headlining with the four-piece band, The Vaccines. If you fancy a bit of hip-hop, “Drop it like it’s hot” to multi-platinum artist Snoop Dog who will probably be puffing out the smoke while performing, but that’s all part of the outdoor experience, right? Predict a riot with the Kaiser Chiefs or shake your ass to Groove Armada, a pair who is bringing a DJ set for you to twerk to your hearts desire.

Let’s be honest, we all love fancy dress. This festival is your much-needed excuse to pretend you’re five again and dress up for a party because this year’s fancy dress theme is ‘Kendal Calling Goes Through The Decades’. You’re invited to and dress up as a character from your favourite decade. Maybe you want to fit in with the festival stereotype and go as a 60’s hippy? Pull out the neon leg warmers, beads and cover yourself in UV face paint get yourself into the glow tent and become a 90’s baby for the weekend. Grease is the word if you wanna go all 70’s or get a group together a go blue as an 80’s smurf. Anything goes. If hearing the port-a-loos flush all night, non-stop partying and mud in all places possible is your thing, traditional camping is available! For those more in touch with their appearance and can’t live without uploading a snap or two to instagram, there is affordable luxury camping where you can have a hot shower and charge your phone to look instaworthy.

Being two months away, it’s not too late to get away from your boss and book those few days you have left off work to go to Kendal Calling. They guarantee a weekend-long hangover and hundreds of pictures on your phone with random people you may or may not ever see again. But for that weekend, they’ll be your best friends.

I would hurry as tickets are almost sold out! You can purchase them here http://www.kendalcalling.co.uk /tickets/. Also, be nosey and find out whom else it going at https://licklist.co.uk/kendal- calling.
