Lovebox

Get ready to unlock the key to the best music festival this side of London town, a festival that thinks outside the box to bring to you a spectacular array of dance and indie pop music in its greatest form. Gotta love a box related pun! Lovebox takes place over the 17th - 18th July in the East Ends Victoria Park, jellied eel and mash anyone?

The festival stemmed from a club night hosted in 2002 on Clapham Common by UK dance duo Groove Armada to celebrate their first birthday, most people make do with a caterpillar cake and a Disney CD but each to their own. The club night was such a huge success it marked the start of an immense two day festival which this year will see it reach its 10th anniversary. Forget a caterpillar cake; this party will blow your mind!

Love Music

Proud parents Groove Armada will be returning to LoveBox this year to perform; this is their first appearance at the festival since stepping down in 2005 so it’s not to be missed.

British drum and bass band Rudimental are set to headline on Friday with American rapper Snoop Dog manning the stage on Saturday. Lovebox has always primarily been adance festival but in recent times it has opened up to a whole new audience by introducing artists from the world of pop rock and indie, giving everyone a little bit of what they fancy. Over the weekend you can expect performances from Mark Ronson, Jessie Ware, Flume and possibly one of the cheesiest British electronic bands Hot Chip, but hey who doesn’t love cheesy chips! If that hasn’t whet your appetite then Friday will also bring you performances from MK, Ella Eyre, Karen Harding and Dusky with Annie Mac, Little Dragon and Scuba taking to the stage on Saturday.

Love Food

Thankfully Lovebox offers way more than just music, a girls gotta eat right? The festival offers a whole host of stalls and stands filled with yummy goodness in the form of grilled cheese, BBQ chicken, pink lemon frosted cupcakes and pop dogs, whatever they are I want one. After working up an appetite from all the fist pumping and throwing yourself about this is just what you will need. Lovebox have pulled out all the stops this year to ensure you don’t go hungry; some of London’s finest culinary masters are ready and waiting so knives and forks at the ready guys!

Getting There

Lovebox is situated slap bang in the middle of London’s East End; if you’re lucky you might catch Kat and Alfie in the local chippie. Victoria Park has 69 acres to play with making it the perfect venue for such a sell out festival. There is a no camping policy which means you won’t need to come armed with your tent pitching forks and your cosy sleeping bag for one. The nearest train station is Mile End which is roughly a 12 minute walk away so getting to and from the festival is nice and easy for you, however if you fancy staying the night somewhere away from home (for those of us who don’t get out much) then there are plenty of local hotels and B&B`s with prices starting from around £16 per person. Just don’t expect to be topping and tailing with her Majesty the queen, you may be in London but let’s not get too carried away.

Love a bit more!

As well as bringing an insanely good line up to the table, Lovebox is bringing you more entertainment and excitement than you will know what to do with. The new craze slack lining is coming to the festival; think walking the tightrope but a little less intimidating so if you’re feeling brave then why not try and impress your friends. Also take a trip to The Parlour, a girly girls dream, they will transform your somewhat average looking face (no offense) to something sparkly and magical, did someone say Swarovski’s? Oh and did I mention they have a roller disco! Knee high socks and headbands at the ready guys, you know you want to!
