Licklist guide to… The Hive Edinburgh

If you’re a busy little bee in the week and find your mind wandering to the weekend, then the best place to relax and spread your wings is The Hive in Edinburgh. Do you like what we did there? Open 7 nights a week and located directly in the city centre, it’s just a short walk from Princes Street and will certainly leave you feeling royal. Okay we’ll stop now. With a range of nights for a variety of tastes, there is something for everyone. From electro, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Rock, Indie and Retro you’ll be sure to have a great time. Try and say that without taking a breath… Actually don’t.

Never again will you have that dull Monday feeling, with the remainder of a value spirit hangover lurking over you from Saturday. With the Hive’s ‘Mixed up Mondays’ offering you £1 drinks and free entry, you might even look forward to Mondays. Maybe. Then if this leaves you wanting more, the week keeps on getting better from here. Forget Mean Girls ‘On Wednesday we wear pink’, now Wednesdays are all about cheese and we mean cheesy cheese. Boogie till the early hours to the likes of Aqua, Spice Girls and Wham… We imagine The Proclaimers would be belted out too.

It doesn’t stop there. The Hive want to make you feel special. They want to  make you feel VIP. They want you to feel famous (okay they didn’t actually say this but it’s how we like to feel). Simply sign up to their VIP guest list online and you’ll receive offers, event listings and news. So go on, you tell everyone you’re VIP, you dance with your glass in the air, no-one needs to know you signed up to a free guest list. Bright lights, loud music and the odd special effect, you’ll feel like you’re having a sugar overdose from Rainbow drops and you’ll love it. With a chilled atmosphere and vibe, this place is perfect for a last minute spontaneous ‘cheeky ’ night. The dress code is relaxed and you could even wear your favourite Viking outfit… this did actually happen.
