Latitude Festival

Latitude Festival

It seems that most festivals are celebrating birthday’s this year and Latitude festival is no different. Reaching double figures is a big thing and this festival isn’t going to reach it quietly. So if you’re having a birthday this year (everybody), you should definitely celebrate with them, after all 2 celebrations is better than 1.

From Thursday 16th July until Sunday 19th July, Henham Park in Suffolk will be the place to go. Noel Gallagher will be headlining the festival with his band ‘Noel Gallagher and the high flying birds’… Let’s just hope he doesn’t turn this family fun event into a family affair and start slagging off Liam in the usual manner. The Vaccines, Seasick Steve and the Manic Street Preachers will also be gracing the stage as well as La Roux. Bet you’ve got the high pitched ‘I’m going in for the kill’ stuck in your head all day now…

And the line-up doesn’t stop here. This festival prides itself on having something for everyone, unlike the annual boxing day buffet when someone (usually you) gets left with a dry beef sandwich and maybe if you’re lucky a bit of pineapple and cheese on a cocktail stick. This festival doesn’t just wow your imagination with music, it also has a great line-up of comedy planned. Jason Manford, Jack Dee, Josh Widdicombe and Alan Davies will have you peeing yourself. (And that’s only because of the traditional Suffolk beer).

Like any other British festival, camping is camping and showering is showering. However at Latitude, the toilets are a treat. This year, company ‘Loowatt’ are supplying the festival with toilets. Think LED lighting, a proper flush and porcelain sinks. Fellas this might not bother you but if you’re trying to persuade your lady that this is a better option than a £2000 holiday to Greece, just mention this…

Latitude holds the title of ‘Best Family Festival’ Award and this year will be no different. Arranged around the banks of the central Latitude lake you will find the incredibly enticing Kids' Area, where children are entertained all day and into the night with everything from pond dipping and stargazing to bush-craft skills and French knitting. A real hive of activity, you’re only problem is how you’ll fit it all in!

Tickets are on sale now at http://www.latitudefestival.co m/tickets and word has it that they are being snapped up pretty quickly. So if you wanna be one of the cool kids this summer, then in true 2004 Gwen Stefani style, what are you waiting for?
