After-work wind down!

Working in the Big Smoke? Looking for a place to unwind with your colleague’s after a long day? Then look no further as we at Licklist have some great recommendations for your after work drinks in London…

Picture this; Ping-Pong, a Pint and Pizza. Can you think of a better place to chill out than at Bounce London (Holborn)? It boasts over 17 ping pong tables, an exquisite Italian menu and a great selection of drinks, with classic British inspired cocktails and eclectic music. Bounce is considered an “electrifying adults playground”.

If you work in The City, we think only a stiff G&T will cut it after work. So head over to the City of London Distillery, where gin is distilled on site- heaven! Located on Bride Lane,  London Distillery’s COLD Bar (open Monday to Saturday from 4 to 11pm), is a retro cocktail bar overlooking the striking copper stills of the distillery, with a faint aroma of gin vapour adding to its unique atmosphere. Contrary to the name, the COLD Bar has a warm and friendly atmosphere.

With a menu of delicious nibbles and cocktails aplenty, Blueberry is a great after-work destination just around the corner from Old Street Station. Holding Tennis Table Tournaments every Tuesday, you can always expect a great atmosphere, and healthy competition between workmates.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life by visiting the Radio Tower Rooftop bar, located on the tenth floor of the ME London Hotel. Boasting panoramic views of the capital, this bar is  open every day. As well as a party atmosphere, Radio Tower offers a selection of premium tapas and the finest cocktails to complete your chilled night in the clouds.

Enjoy the relaxed surroundings of Brown Sugar just minutes from Soho and Covent Garden. With plenty of seating inside, and the addition of street-side tables, this London bar offers some of the best service around. Although small, this intimate and friendly bar has bundles of charm.

A cool London pub that provides a lot more than your regular boozer is The Miller, which hosts regular comedy shows, live music and film screenings. It has an awesome roof terrace with a ping pong table on it (seeing a theme yet?), which is a cool and quirky addition to this central London pub that sets it apart from the rest of your more traditional pubs.

Avoid the rush with after work drinks at All Bar One, a popular chain dotted around London; the perfect place to meet up with friends or relax after work. Of all the bars in London, this has the right blend of fooddrink and atmosphere at any time of day.

If you’re travelling home from Euston station, why not grab a cheeky beverage before the last train and try a pub from the days when travel was a luxury: Euston Tap. Located literally outside Euston Station, this vintage drink-stop holds dozens of drinks, including specialist ciders and mead- just make sure you to check                      TFL for the time of your last train…

If stations are you thing, you’ll love The Booking Office at St Pancras Station. Its soaring ceilings and epic arches make this both a train enthusiast’s and architect’s dream.

A great City pub near St Paul's Cathedral, perfect for after work drinks, is the quirkily-named Shaws Booksellers which combines the charm of a trusted local with a thriving City centre location. You can expect a warm welcome, high quality cuisine and traditional real ales. It's not just the name of the pub that attracts intrigued City Pub goers - customers are often fascinated by the little touches that make this place unique.

Those are just 10 of the many places that London has to offer. You’re bound to find hidden gems in the city, from relaxed hangouts to sophisticated bars or lively clubs; there’s something to suit everyone in the office. So whether it’s a Monday Blues pick me up, Wine Wednesday or simply just celebrating the start of the weekend, wind down after work and make a toast to the Big Smoke!
