A Brief History

Ministry of Sound first opened its doors way back in September ‘91. This was the first club dedicated to house music and the world’s first nightclub with a room built purely for exceptional sound quality. In fact Ministry of Sound was recently ranked twelfth in the 2014 DJ Magazine top 100 clubs in the WORLD poll, and has won the IDMA ‘World’s Best Sound System’ award four years in a row- impressive!

Fun Fact for you film fanatics- this club has been used a location for one of the Batman films. That’s right; Ministry of Sound is featured as the club in ‘The Dark Knight’ and even in ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’. With an unrivalled lighting system and great open spaces, it’s no wonder that this venue is great for filming.

Music

To this day, sound is still at the forefront of everything that Ministry of Sound stands for: Dance, Electro House, Funk, House, Progressive House to Techno / Trance with occasional live music- this is definitely one for the clubbing enthusiasts. As mentioned this club brags a crisp, clear, thumpingly loud sound system, and hosts some of the best house DJs around, including renowned stars like Eminem, Metallica and Hadouken!

The majority of the sets are recorded live from the club and are avaliable on demand. They stream sets live from the club via the Ministry of Sound Radio every Friday & Saturday night.

Plus for those budding artists out there, you can even have the chance to hear your own work played on the impressive sound systems. They gladly receive demos and will be in touch if they like what they hear!

Ministry of Sound helped spread dance music’s popularity around the world. You can experience the essence of what they achieve here- there’s nothing quite like hearing it for yourself in the heart of the pumping crowd in the club’s main room, The Box…

Rooms

The club boasts five fantastic rooms: (The Box, Baby Box, 103, The Loft and VIP Lounge) each with a unique look and all benefit with large lighting rigs to help set the mood. The Club holds a total capacity of 2000 but you can still expect it to get packed. They also have a large outdoor courtyard with sheltered seating, and even a food concession outside to help you refuel- so you can continue to party ‘til the early hours!

VIP

Ministry also has an exclusive VIP package that includes your very own private booth, elevated above the two headline rooms with balconies overlooking both. With VIP access you can jump the queue, where you will be greeted by a hostess who will escort your group to a reserved private booth in the VIP lounge. Your table will have a round of complimentary shots to get the party started, and an all night bottle service will ensure your glasses remain full!

So whether you’re enjoying unparalleled views of the iconic main room, chilling out on the balcony, mingling with superstar DJs or sampling one of the mouth-watering cocktails, you can be sure you’ll feel like a VIP all night long.
