The Soundhouse presents A Pint of Poetry on Friday 28th April!

Bringing some of the best national and local poets on to our stage



JB Barrington

JB Barrington is a performance poet and Amnesty International slam winner from Salford. He is renown for his searing and satirical poetry and snarling delivery of strong sentiments and sharp rhymes. His sold out show 'Woodchip Anaglypta and Nicotined Artex Ceilings' won the best spoken word award 2014 at the Greater Manchester Fringe. He has also supported the likes of The Charlatans, Sleaford Mods and has played at Glastonbury, Kendal Calling and Festival No.6.

JB's poems are about portraying life as it truly is, through the eyes of the working class and he's a spoken word maestro who provides one of the most powerful performances on the UK scene.

Joe is a resident poet at the iconic Roundhouse in Camden, has performed at events like Tim wells' "Stand up and spit", Scroobius Pips "Lizard Lounge" as well as performing at gigs and festivals up and down the country, sharing a bill with names like Phil Jupitus, Salena Godden, Hollie McNish and many more.



Crude unprocessed and straight from the heart. Midlands poet Asher X born and bread in the cultural casserole of Leicester city. Her words scrawled from the colourful jobless darkness she has festered in for too long, with biros and receipts as pen and pad.
