LINE UP – SODY, BE CHARLOTTE, BABY QUEEN

SODY

An artist on the rise, Sody, at the mere age of 19 has had tracks featured on Love Island UK and already amassed over 35 million collective streams.

The breaking singer-songwriter has caught the attention of publications such as Wonderland, Clash Magazine, and Euphoria Magazine and BBC Introducing over the years. And also Julia Michaels who shared her track “Maybe It Was Me” on her socials.

Not shy to admit that she wears her heart on her sleeve, Sody states ‘Being honest is my thing’. Her music is a complete reflection of that, where Sody voices her journey in coming of age in songs like ‘Maybe It Was Me,’ ‘Let You Know,’ ‘Whole (demo),’ ‘I Don’t Know You Anymore,’ and ‘The Bully’. In 2019, in support of ‘The Bully,’ Sody passionately advocated for anti-bullying by partnering with UK organization Ditch The Label and travelled the UK giving talks about her bullying experience in high schools.

Her most recent EP “I’m Sorry I’m Not Sorry,” is an EP that is sure to have an impact on its listeners – full of reflection, captured by a spine-tingling acoustic sound. It includes co-writing credits and production from Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus, Wrecking Ball and Lana Del Rey, Without You), Toby Scott (Little Mix, Gossip) and Frances (Maisie Peters, Jess Glynne) amongst others. Sody says of the EP - ‘‘I’m sorry I’m not sorry’ is me accepting myself for who I am and coming to terms with certain experiences in my life. My words are honest and I hope other people find comfort in them and remember that whatever they are going through, they are not alone.’

BE CHARLOTTE

Some pop stars make music for the sake of it. But for 21-year-old Be Charlotte – music is about meaning.

It’s the combination of her remarkable songwriting talent, a knack for sweeping melodies and the fierce sense of identity and self-worth which makes heads turn, not only in the UK. Even although she is still at the beginning of her career Be Charlotte has toured around Europe, North America and Asia as well as sharing the stage with Major Lazer in Africa in 2018.

Woven into every note of her glimmering pop songs, anthemic beats and immediate vocals which radiate that quiet yet determined personality, there's this extraordinary effort to inspire others. In the lyrics, the listener will find honesty, a level of maturity beyond her years, and reflection. She has taken influence from classic songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Tracy Chapman and instinctively applied them to her love of modern pop and hip-hop.

Since starting to find her voice as a teenager with an acoustic guitar in Dundee, Scotland, Be Charlotte has been focused on finding inner strength and inspiring others to do the same, and is ready to speak up.

"I hope that my lyrics can encourage listeners to discover strength within themselves, rather than looking for validation from others." She’s not a perfect princess figure and never wanted to be. She's content in being herself and singing in her own voice and is ready take on the world.

BABY QUEEN

London based Baby Queen, 22, is anti-pop’s newest heiress. Her music is an overtly opinionated whirlwind of sonic pleasantry that is dripping with satire and sarcasm. Whilst the topics she writes about are often serious and somewhat dark, they are brought to life through soaring melodies and indelible hooks. It’s a social perception of any kid and how they are experiencing the world as we do now. She describes her music as what the inside of her brain would sound like were somebody to hold a stethoscope to it. “Baby Queen isn’t only me. It’s honesty. It’s any kid that is experiencing the world as we do now. It’s a mirror to this most peculiar existence wherein our own physical identities and realities are merged with the way we portray ourselves online. We have never been more connected, and yet we have never been sadder.”
