About this Event

Notting Hill Arts Club is proud to present:

• Han Bloom •

Han Bloom is a female songwriter and composer from Putney, London. She began playing piano at 4 years old, where so was taught the basics by her father, a record producer.

From the ages of 4 - 15, Han was self taught and whilst being exposed to all genres and playing in all genres, she develpoped a flare and appreciation for jazz and blues. Han also played in various rock and jazz bands throughout her teens as a bass player and keys player.
She took formal lessons at 15 and decided she would further her classical exposure. Han is the first female in history to study Classical Composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music . She then went on to study jazz and psychoacoustics at the University of Aberdeen.
Throughout her teens and early twenties, Han worked as an in-house composer at an analog studio, where she learned to utilise the studio as an instrument in itself. She has a preference for the analog world and the natural warmth that it captures. She also has an appreciation for the digital age, especially in the world of synths and expanding sound worlds.

To date: Han Bloom has her debut album release upcoming and is excited to announce her live band in support of her release. The album, Higher State of Mind, comprises her take on Western Society, politics and love, (with a comedic undertone). The album is a solo project, that Han wanted to do in order to learn the art of digital recording, mixing and mastering. Her second album will be an analog funk/ rock project.
