Revinyl Sessions 049 w/ RSD aka Rob Smith
About this Event
A massive thankyou to Papa Steve set at The Bell, he truly pulled out some funky good’uns for that session.
NEXT UP: In the build up to our 50th Revinyl Session at the Plough, we thought it would be a great idea to invite down once again the living legend that is Rob Smith aka RSD. Not only has he been a massive influence on Bristol’s early dubstep days but he’s also received global recognition for pioneering Bristols homegrown mutation of Hip-Hop and Jungle in the 80’s and 90’s.
Still highly relevant with his uniquely percussive style as much as his 10-steps-ahead approach to DJ’ing, his sets still leave us scratching our heads with the question “where the heck did that come from?” This will also be his last show in Bristol before he heads off to Japan for a long while so come and catch the rare occasion where he’ll be dusting the dubplates off for us once again.
Revinyl Sessions have an open-deck, open-genre policy so anyone can come and play whatever wax they're feeling. Our aim is to bring people together through an appreciation of the vinyl format. It doesn't matter if you don’t have much experience, we aim to be a platform for people to go from bedroom DJ to playing out more regularly. If you are interested in playing at this event please express your interest on the event page or through the Revinyl Sessions Music Group.
From now on each event we do we will be collecting donations for those who’s lives have not been as privileged. Up until Christmas our charity will be focusing on Bristols Homeless charity (https://helpbristolshomeless.co.uk/), so on the night we will be collecting donations for this charity.
