World AIDS Day at Plush
About this Event
World AIDS Day, the first-ever global health day, takes place on 1st December each year, and this year, Plush will once again stand in solidarity and unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
Today, scientific advances have been made in HIV treatment, there are laws to protect people living with HIV and we understand so much more about the condition. Despite this, each year in the UK around 6,000 people are diagnosed with HIV, people do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others, and stigma and discrimination remain a reality for many people living with the condition.
HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education, and on Friday, 1st December Plush will join this cause by asking you, our Plushette family, to dig deep and donate to this cause.
This Friday, be on the lookout for donation tins and fundraising buckets placed on the bars and throughout the club on Friday, for a roaming Lady B asking for any spare notes/coins, and let us do our part to raise what we can for a terrific cause.
100% of all donations will go to the NAT (National AIDS Trust).
On all occasions, but especially this one, Plush love xx
