> Word On The Street : Bristol present: Harvey Causon <
Calm and understated, Bristol’s Harvey Causon is not looking to blow you away with a wall of sound. You’ll be blown away instead by his soft, glitching electronica, deft take on contemporary R&B, and reeled by his rich vocals, that sound far more world wearied than his 19 years.
With nods to other contemporary producers Jamie Isaac and James Blake, Harvey’s sound is pop at heart; but his clever, minimal production, rich, heart stopping vocal and dulcet guitar tones set him apart.
After moving to Bristol last year, Harvey quickly released his ‘Introspect EP’, a collection of songs that he had been sitting on for a while. Eclectic, but polished, the stand out song from the release, ‘Systems’ was given a remix from rising hip hop duo Cabrakid. This earned Harvey an appearance at 'Cabra’s' support slot with Loyle Carner after the rapper heard the track.
The first track off the young artists EP is a perfectly formed, intricate but spacey, pop song. With the lush, sparse instrumentation coupled with his smooth, beautiful vocal, it's easy to get drawn in. Like a less murky Spooky Black, Harvey has crafted a forward thinking, and impressive, first taste into what his music is about.
The success of his EP, and his enthusiasm, has led him to appear at The Great Escape, Dot To Dot and 2000 Trees Festivals whilst also supporting Hazel English at her Bristol Louisiana show.
Since then, Harvey has kept his head down, defining his sound with a three piece band and writing new material. A few guest vocal appearances on releases with Norwich’s Maya Law and Allergy Kid pieced together with some live jam leaks on his social media hint at future collaborative works.
In October, Harvey released his latest single 'Frisson' with local Bristol label Leisure Records; this gained attention from indieshuffle, Bristol Live and DIY magazine being noted as 'an impressively diverse three minutes'.

> Leisure Records present: No Violet <
“Tasty, fuzzy goodness” - Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6
“The best thing around at the moment” - Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
Grunge//Alt-Rock//Fuzz love. Can you feel my love buzz?
Bristol-based 4 piece, No Violet, powerfully retain your attention with their enthralling performances of their idiosyncratic blend of fuzz-infused grunge/alt rock and semi-contorted math rock. Ellie (vox), Pete (drums), Rhys (guitar), and Kerry (bass) captivate their audience through a manipulating dynamic range that echoes early Pixies with an added split personality disorder. Having just released their 2nd single, ‘America’ in October 2017, they have featured regularly on BBC Intro radioplay and are moving into and even fuzzier 2018 with the release of their debut EP.
“Containing their raucous, blistering live sound is no easy feat, but Bristol grunge band No Violet have done it, sounding the most potent they have yet.” Bristol Live Magazine

> Electric Harmony present: Rozelle <
Rozelle bridge the gap between experimental electronic music and chart pop.
The group was brought together by songwriter and front woman Hayley Smith, who began writing short stories and poetry throughout her childhood. Fascinated by evolution, art and social complexity, her writing style speaks about life’s curiosities and what she sees.
Their live shows take you on a memorable journey, leading you through dreamy soundscapes with punchy upbeat dance rhythms. Rozelle create a sound that you can’t quite put your finger on.
They bring back a 90’s nostalgia, with a mix of electro sound bites and gritty guitars, but deliver an air of Wolf Alice with hints of Florence and the Machine, bringing a current yet entrancing vibe, which sits perfectly on festival stages.

> Tap The Feed present: YOUTH
YOUTH are a four-piece alternative/rock band based in Bristol. Starting in 2013, they have slowly made a name for themselves within the local music scene and surrounding areas.
They gather influences from various different genres of music and have frequently met with people unable to quite put a finger on their sound.
Mixing intricate and emotive beauty with overdriven, reverb drenched noise, backed up by punchy and attacking drum sections.
