In:Motion Presents King Krule
About this Event
Archy Marshall makes his long-awaited live return as King Krule this year. Off the back of tracks bristling with a worldly heartache, (some, like Easy Easy, written when he was as young as 13), King Krule emerged in 2011 as one of the most arresting new voices in music. At first look, it’s hard to believe his snarling baritone could come from the skinny kid behind hit, but aged just 19 he released 6 Feet Beneath The Moon: a dark, tangled web of jazz, post-punk and hip-hop. Subsequent touring cemented his growing rep for performing way beyond his years.
Since then, he’s guested on albums by Mount Kimbie and Ratking as King Krule, while his productions as Edgar The Beatmaker have been used by the likes of Earl Sweatshirt. At the tail end of 2015 he also released A New Place 2 Drown, an album and accompanying book showcasing poetry and art of his own and his brother’s.
Following on from his show-stealing appearance on Mount Kimbie’s ‘Blue Train Lines’ earlier this year, Marshall returns to the King Krule moniker for a series of gigs and heavily rumoured upcoming album. As one of the most singular performers of his generation, this will be one The Marble Factory won’t forget.
