Soulful, funk-fuelled hip hop packed with infectious beats and lyrical dexterity, DJ FORMAT’s debut album “Music For The Mature B-Boy” was one of the slowburn success stories of 2003 and one of the most successful debut artist albums from the UK alternative/urban scene.



Drawing on ’80s & early ’90s hip hop and most music from the late ’60s & early ’70s of James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Ian Carr’s Nucleus, Soft Machine, Run Dmc, Beastie Boys, Juice Crew, BDP, Ultramagnetic Mc’s, DITC. Just to name a few.



And DJ FORMAT & ABDOMINAL just can’t stay away from touring the UK! After another incredibly successful tour earlier this year, the infamous hip hop duo head out once again to showcase their very first full-length album together, ‘Still Hungry’ – released in May and it saw the guys play live on BBC 6 Music with Lauren Laverne as well as London’s very own Soho Radio.



The first single from the album, ‘Behind the Scenes’ was 6Music playlisted with 50+ plays alongside 150k YouTube hits. Still Hungry hit the Top 10 in the iTunes Hip Hop Charts as well as hitting #1 in the overall Bandcamp album charts.



And, of course, we all know the amazing vids directed by Ruben Fleischer; yeah we’re talking rapping and breakdancing costumed animals of “We Know Something You Don’t Know” w/ Chali 2na & Akil (Jurassic 5) – an unforgettable piece of feel good hip hop.



The second part of the UK tour sees DJ Format & Abdominal reach towns and cities a lot of artists don’t care to reach proving the fact that the UK hip hop scene is thriving as much as ever!
