Elder Island at Exchange | Bristol
About this Event
Bristol based artistic trio Katy Sargent, David Havard and Luke Thornton form the undeniably groovy band, Elder Island. Following the success their 2016 Seeds in Sand EP release, they will be bringing their unique performance to The Exchange for a hometown show.
As Bristols’ acclaimed homegrown talent, they deliver organic, mellow, dance-pop. Katy’s ethereal voice and cello playing over Luke and David’s melodic brooding will move your soul while their live looping, mixing and funk-infused synths.
Over the past year the trio have garnered support from the likes of Phil Taggart, Huw Stephens and Tom Robinson. The guys were included within Tom’s ‘Ones to Watch’ listwithin the BBC Introducing Newsletter earlier this year.
Following the success of their sold out The Great Escape Presents headline show in London, they played to a packed crowd at The Great Escape Festival on Amazing Radio’s Stage.
The band were hand-picked by Glass Animals themselves to join them as lead support across the full European Tour which led to Elder Island being playlisted across Amazon.de and Spotify.
This Summer they will have graced Boomtown Fair, Love Saves the Day (Main Stage), Lovebox, Lost Village, Farm Fest, Ventnor Fringe Festival, Valleyfest and many more.
Best described sonically as somewhere between the likes of London Grammar, The xx, Mount Kimbie and Maribou State, their music is the perfect soundtrack to an ambient day in the office, as well as lending itself as a heady evening groove.
