About this Event
Wrong Way Records are delighted to present a Liverpool Psych Fest warm up, with 3 bands who are plying the Festival over the following 2 days.
Rancho Relaxo (Norway)
The legendary psychedelic/ shoegaze/ trippy band are over for just 3 shows and this will be their first ever gig in the UK!
Having released a double LP and a sold out 12" on Wrong Way Records, this will be a chance to hear a set full of best tracks from their 10 year career, spawning an incredible 10 albums. Often cited as a big influence on the new wave of neo-psychedelic bands around today.
A 6 piece band for the tour and will be bringing their 7th member along to, in the form of a vintage 60's "Rhythm Ace" Drum machine!
Expect "Twangy guitars, tambourines, sitar and shoegaze vibes mixed with a proper dose of neo-psychedelia sprinkled with 12 strings, soaked in reverb, trippy melodies and some occasional fuzz freak-outs. Dig?"
Hurricane Heart Attacks (Argentina)
Again, over for a few shows in Europe and the UK including Liverpool Psych Fest and Zaragoza Psych Fest in Spain, this will be their first ever gig in the UK!
Hurricane Heart Attacks are a 4 piece neo-psych band who bring a blend of early Brian Jonestown Massacre, early Verve, The Warlocks and Sixties Psych and mix it all up in their own distinctive way.
Having supported Brian Jonestown Massacre, Silver Apples and The Dandy Warhols they have a rich pedigree, and like Rancho Relaxo they have a massive cult following.
Wrong Way are releasing a very limited coloured vinyl tour 7” to coincide with the shows.
Is Bliss (Southsea)
Back again to The Crofters Rights by popular demand after their sensational show supporting The Flyying Colours. If this band was around in 1990 they would have been overnight sensations, mixing a blend of The Telescopes, Ride, MBV and Verve they conjure up an amazing psychedelic shoegaze wall of sound!
They've released 2 sold out 12" EPs on Club AC30 and we're all looking forward to their debut LP.
Captain Süün
We are delighted to add the amazing local band to the bill
Captain Süün are a 3 piece garage-psych rock band from the beautiful, maybe slightly dirty, city of Bristol. Drawing influence from an array of genres, they formed through the love of being in sweaty venues and drinking together. After selling their souls to rock and roll at the end of 2016, the band have played with some of the best bands across the country, forming unbreakable ties. With already so many shows under their belt they head to the Malthouse Studios in September to record their first mini-LP. When not on stage they can be found in their Bristol apartment, just down from the massage clubs and pubs but not quite in the nice spot, swigging whiskey in the dark and trying to find the most obscure guitars possible.
