Liverpool: A City Of Protest
About this Event
Liverpool has a long history of standing up for social justice and equality. With the global rise of the far right, a continuation of ingrained sexism, misogyny, racism and homophobia in society, and austerity measures that are having a real human impact, standing together in solidarity against social injustice and inequality is as important as ever before.
This exhibition, curated by Ley Lines studio member Amanda Marie Atkinson, celebrates Liverpool as a city of protest. Displaying the art and messages used at local demonstrations, it highlights the need for a politics of hope and action from the bottom up in the fight for change.
Constellations has played host to many exhibitions large and small. From the top 100 pieces of work from the International Reggae Poster Contest, 'Art Of Reggae' to LOOK/17 to the Hip Hop Culture Exhibition.
You are invited to join us for the opening of the exhibition on July 20th. Doors from 6pm. Cuban Street Food served in the garden from our partners at FINCA Liverpool and music from local DJ's.
The exhibition will run until August 3rd.
