Patchwork Residents
This summer marks 2 years of Patchwork – seemed fitting that we throw a big old party.
On Thursday 22nd of June, we’ll be providing you with 12 hours of (almost) non-stop ~dance vibrations~, starting with a rather nostalgic day party (hold tight the housework launch crew) at the Isis Farmhouse. As night falls, we’ll be heading to Frewin Court to spend the evening in the basement we call home. We’re more than a little bit excited to be inviting 3 guests – who we feel bring together everything that Patchwork is about – to come and celebrate the occasion with us!
Alongside your trusty team of Patchwork residents, we’ve invited one of our favourite past bookings to come and play in the daytime. Anu set The Cellar alight back in December, and she’ll be bringing back her unmatchable energy to our open-air affair. A seasoned resident of both NTS Radio and the legendary Rhythm Section parties, Anu promises an incredible selection of anything from ambient to house via new wave, post-punk and whatever else suits her fancy. If you missed out last time, make sure you’re there for round 2.
Redlight Radio Amsterdam’s co-founder and selector extraordinaire Orpheu The Wizard will be kicking off proceedings in the club. In the last decade, Orpheu has been a key figure in Amsterdam’s burgeoning scene, and more recently his highly eclectic, party-starting sets have accelerated him onto the world stage. A specialist in the oddities of afro, synth, disco, house and much, much more, Orpheu brings heat wherever he goes.
Finally, Lena Willikens, resident of the esteemed Salon Des Amateurs in Dusseldorf, will take us into the early hours. Her mind-bending selections of techno, EBM, “industrial boogie” and anything else she can twist into the picture have made her one of the world’s most sought after DJs. More than just a selector, she is famous for her incredible skill behind the decks, as well as her knack for producing irresistible, droney dance tracks such as 2015’s ‘Howlin Lupus’ on revered German label Cómeme.
This may well be Patchwork’s last outing in Oxford, and possibly anywhere. We want to see it out with a bang, and we would absolutely love to see as many familiar Patchwork faces down there as possible. We’ve enjoyed every second; let’s make it special.
As always, Patchwork is not-for-profit. Any money made by this event will be split between a charity and future bookings. Charity TBA.
