We are back with our second event on 12th May live and direct from The Crofters Rights. This time we have the mighty headliner FRIENDLY FIRE BAND straight outta Birmingham…



FRIENDLY FIRE MUSIC (Reggae/Dancehall/Ska)

Friendly Fire Band have been a staple part of the UK Reggae community for a number of years. Based in Brimingham but travelling the length and breadth of the country the crew have either backed or recorded with foundation artists and acts such: Dawn Penn, Michael Prophet, Daddy Freddy and Anthony Johnson to name but a few. As well as the foundations, Friendly Fire also work with the next generation of Reggae music including the likes of YT, Lion Art, Tippa Irie and Murray Man. We are majorly excited to play host to such a seminal band inna Bristol Town on 12th May… BIM!



THE MIDNIGHT ZU (Ska/Dub/Hip Hop)

Our good friends, The Midnight Zu, are an 8-piece collective trying to provide messages of peace and positivity to the masses, while leading a musical mission through ska, dub, hip hop, funk and soul. After two years of proving their ability to mash up dance floors, they have further refined their sound while preparing to go into the studio for the first time. In preparation for their debut release there is a busy summer ahead for the crew, including gigs at Boomtown, Mandrea Music Festival and Wonder Fields Festival! They will be warming up and trying out some festival material with us at Hotsteppin’.



HOTSTEPPAS (Reggae/Funk/Dancehall)

Since forming in early 2016, Hotsteppas have gone from strength to strength. With a load of shows now under their belts, they have been Hotsteppin’ all over the place. Warming up for a big summer of festivals including: Boomtown, One Love, Wonderfields and White Noise festival... we will be trialling our fresh, new festival material at this one, with our wonderful new vocalist! Can’t wait to show you all what we have been working on…



LEO SAMSON (Reggae Roast)

Since forming in 2007, Reggae Roast have forged a reputation as the leading light in the resurgence of the UK Dub / Reggae scene. Leo is a key member of the Reggae Roast family and several of his riddims are gaining popularity within the scene. With some big releases set for over the summer on Reggae Roast and Boom Sound, Leo has been working hard with multiple vocalists including Dark Angel, Solo Banton and Shumba Youth.



FAT STASH (Boom Sound) Feat. Dr Vibez

You may have come down to one of their nights at Cosies before and if you have, you know they mean business! Having played nearly every venue in Bristol including Lakota, Motion, Blue Mountain and more, we are ready for the Fat Stash crew to come down and spin us some fresh riddims, exclusive dubplates and heavy weight bass on the 12th May.



BROCKLEY HIFI Feat. Live Horns

Team of selectors coming out of Brockley Lewisham, but relocated to Bristol, they run strictly roots, rock reggae inna 45 style! Residents at SHAK OUT, these boys have smashed every dance they've played, and will be bringing their ruffneck sound to Crofters for the next Hotsteppin’!.
