The Comet Is Coming The abstract trio comprised of saxophonist King Shabaka, keys player Danalogue the Conqueror and drummer Betamax Killer have just been nominated for the Mercury Prize and now they announce a new tour for 2017.

Describing themselves as “apocalyptic space funk”, The Comet Is Coming’s acclaimed LP Channel The Spirits is a collection of groove-riding galaxies that echo the vibrant complexity of Bitches Brew for a new generation. Boldy praised by Best Fit as “leaving the kosmiche jazz funk of Can and astral investigations of free jazz pioneers such as Pharoah Sanders and John Coltrane in the dust”, they expand your mind with every listen.

Set to be a flawless show that reveals the passionate urgency of Shabaka and his bandmates’ live chops, and the band come to Bristol for a show at The Fleece on May 18th.
