Quite simply, The Libertines defined the sound, and the look, of indie over the last decade. Their seminal “Up The Bracket” album still sounds as fresh, and as important, today as it did on its release. It is still a huge influence on today’s biggest albums - no wonder NME ranked UTB as the 3rd best debut album ever and in top 10 best albums of NME’s long lifespan, Up The Bracket represented twenty first century Rock and Roll in all its glory. Currently in hiatus since their triumphant Reading / Leeds shows a couple of years ago, but with stories leaking every month that they are reforming, Libertines really are UK indie royalty.
