London Communion
About this Event
Communion is back in September, introducing you to 6 of the most exciting new artists in town. See you there!
SWIMMING TAPES
Dreamy guitar pop. There’s something wonderfully elegant about Swimming Tapes’ debut track; “Souvenirs” showcases an assured, shimmering sound, reminiscent of Real Estate and Wild Nothing. The London five piece create a beautifully calming atmosphere while languid vocal work, splashing drums and a brilliantly bumbling bass line keep the action floating along with minimum fuss.
Let Swimming Tapes take you on a kaleidoscopic, sun-kissed journey.

SEA GIRLS
Sea Girls are an alternative-pop four piece band incorporating a wide range of influences from disco to swing, and combining dark instrumentals with confessional lyrics to create tunes bound to make you dance and sing.
Formed in early 2015, they were promptly picked up by Converse to take part in Converse Rubber Tracks, recording their first song "Kiss Me". With hooky melodies and creative lyrics, we know you’ll fall in love with these guys.

MARINE
With a soulful, powerful blend of intricate guitar parts and dextrously interwoven vocals, London-based all-female outfit M A R I N E are rather special. The band first sparked into being in the summer of 2012 when Ruby Jack and Cara Sebastian sat in the warm glow of a campfire. They soon realised their shared longing to move away from the stripped-back arrangements of the folk scene towards something more electric.
Lyrics incorporate personal themes (such as panic attacks and early deaths) while also touching on the mythological. And we’re excited to experience it all live.

FRED PAGE
On one side you have Fred Page, a troubadour in almost the old sense of the word. He writes songs that resonate with people, largely due to the emotional quality contained within, and a man who has been honing his craft over many years in an around his native London,
On the other side is Young & Lost, a haven for songcraft and troubadours of all kinds, having released records by Noah and the Whale, Bombay Bicycle Club, Johnny Flynn and Bastille. Having toured with George Ezra, Page has the kind of music key that will most definitely unlock your heart. Don’t miss him.

WESTERMAN
Influenced by John Martyn, Nick Drake and Neil Young, 23-year-old Westerman nods to classic folk along with the more modern sounds of Ben Howard, Eaves and C. Duncan.
In what is a gentle dual-conquest, Westerman’s falsetto and lonely, cyclical guitar take centre stage. Opening our September clubnight, you’ll need to make sure you get down early to catch him set!
